Well, well, well, let us share some experience as a scientific experiment. In the beginning of this year we have published an article called White month - worth taking a break? . It was simply a text about the idea of making some break from drinking alcohol.
What have we done? We have decided to investigate the actual effect of that break. The goal was to see how our body reacts on alcohol after not being in contact with it during a longer time. After December 31 2023 we started counting the time without any beer, wine or other drinks with alcohol. The project was limited to one month from the start. Then we decided to prolong it. We decided to connect it to different situations.
We asked ourselves, what time would fit best? When should we stop the White January? After 300 kilometers of running? After 500 kilometers of running? Maybe on the birthday party in April? What about doing it when the German course ends? It was not easy to decide the time because the idea of the prolonged White January sounded very attractive.
Actually we stopped the White January on June 19, 171 days after December 31 2023. Almost a half year without alcohol is a period of time when the body absolutely should have been cleaned. What was the feeling of this first beer after 171 days?
Well, the beer contained 3,5 percent of alcohol which is not so much. The result was an effect of almost a regular beer (around 5 percent) when you drink without longer breaks. We are talking about the influence of alcohol of course. What can that tell us? Allow us to say that the idea of White January is a great idea. The result of our investigation shows that a body with less contact with alcohol is more alert and has more energy. It is easier to concentrate on different things and achieve better results in sports. Sometimes people forget that breaks are important for our health.
