Our trip continued to a next goal after Poland. We left Warsaw and driving towards Czechia was pretty pleasant. It was also shorter than the trip from Rügen in Germany to Warsaw.
As an author and owner of this magazine, I have decided to write a reportage about visiting Prague, the capital of Czechia. This was not the first time and this epic city was again a nice adventure.

For me, arriving to Prague was a special experience because I remember it from 1992. It was the year when my father, brother and me were there 33 years ago, as refugees. We spent around three days there because of some unpredictable circumstances. Without revealing the details, I will now write about this new adventure and experience.

This time we checked in to our hotel on the Legerova street. Outside, the street was a typical street with typical buildings in that part of the city. Prague has 1.4 million inhabitants, while its metropolitan area is home to about 2.3 million people. So, it is a big city.

When we left the hotel, the old building on the other side of our hotel was very nice and decorated with hundreds of red flowers.

Further on, we saw buildings with different colors. Very nice designs. If you did not notice that, Prague has clear similarities with cities like Sarajevo, Vienna, Munich and Stockholm. One special detail that connects this beautiful city with Sarajevo are red old trams.

Prague is a special city. It also has a Dancing House. It is a sign that shows us how a modern design can be integrated with the rest of the old buildings on the river bank. By the way, the river that runs through Prague is called the Vltava River.

Walking from this interesting house, towards the old town, we could see many trams and different bridges. This year we decided to try a pedalo boat on the river. Also, the river this time was decorated with something else, namely Squid Game figures.

We rode the pedalo boat around a little island called Střelecký ostrov in the river and we just tried to relax surrounded buy green nature and ducks.

Deep under the city, Prague has its own metro. Unfortunately this one did not give that great first impression like the metro in Warsaw. If we compare those two, the metro in Warsaw was much cleaner and fresher than this one in Prague.

From the Náměstí Míru station, one of the closest to our hotel, we could reach the place on the hill above the famous Karlův most. It is called Lobkowiczký palác. Many tourists enjoy that place. There is a big Matyášova brána and also a big cathedral called Katedrála sv. Víta. Matyášova brána and Hradčanské náměstí is relatively close to the street (Úvoz 156) where we can find the Embassy of Sweden.

Somehow I can remember this place from 1992, even though the Embassy might have changed the address in last 33 years. It is deep in my memory. Between this place on the hill and the central station there is the central part of the city, with many shops, old town and its small streets with many restaurants and souvenir shops.

We also visited the famous catholic church called Chrám Matky Boží před Týnem in the old city and that was also our last evening in Prague. Unfortunately many clouds have covered the sky and the summer day in the city looked darker than it actually was.

What can we give you as a last little souvenir from Prague? And what are some last words? Well, the nostalgia and a dream about going in to the central station after 33 years gave us a perfect opportunity to make this photo.

Somewhere, inside this central station, my brother, my father and me slept on the floor, without knowing what our next day would give us. In my head I still can hear information about train traffic on loudspeakers: Praha - Strašnice. Sometimes it echoes in the head but I enjoy it somehow, because it was our adventure and first visit in Praha, Prag, Prague.
Luckily, it ended better than it looked like. As the author of this magazine, I am proud of being able to call Prague for my town. Praha is a part of me. The connection between me and Praha is magic. Also this time, my new family and me have created our new memory.
So, if your are in some new dreams about a fantastic trip, then visit Prague. It is worth and it can be a wonderful trip for you and people with you.
