AI - is it a friend or an enemy? If we try to think about different situations, we will be able to understand the question. Let us try to go in to it without any deeper analysis. Is the AI reliable and good for us?

What do the people like you and me think when we see the word AI? It is simply the abbreviation of Artificial Intelligence. Without going into it, and without explaining how it works, we can do something else. We can try to understand the use of it. And we can concentrate on the Internet.

Is the AI a friend or an enemy? The answer probably depends on the circumstances. If you search for something on the Internet, you can see that the AI pushes its own explanations in the front of all others. The explanations can sound clear and understandable, but is the information reliable?

We can experience the AI as friend if we get the information we search very fast. Of course it requires that the information is reliable. It is reliable if the subject is not totally new for us. When we possess a certain knowledge, but temporarily forget something, it is great when the AI confirms what we actually know. Other ways, if we think that the AI explanations are not reliable, we can try to double check with other sources in that specific search result.

Different companies with online services can experience the AI as a good friend. It helps them with saving money by reducing the number of employees. Also it can help their customers with guidance when using an online tool. Sometimes though, it can be disturbing when you can not get rid of it.

In other words: The AI is our friend when it is helpful. It is our enemy when it disturbs us on the Internet and we can not turn it off. However, it is our probably biggest enemy when it takes our jobs from us. Not only that, it might damage our own intelligence by taking our ability to think from us.
