Politics inside the Eurovision Song Contest

Politics inside the Eurovision Song Contest. Music is always nice, but not every artist is good and fair. Or is the fear a result of being afraid of being beaten by a better artist? Let us see what this year offers.

Two years ago we published an article because we were worried for a possible chaos. The Eurovision Song Contest was in Malmö, in Sweden. It was somehow a stressful time because of the politics and the wars. Somehow it is understandable that people can react because of something that maybe appears to be wrong.

It is now 2026. This time the contest will be held in Austria. We have not heard about any tensions but we have heard about an artist using the Eurovision Song Contest for expressing her opinion against Israeli participation. It is a young Swedish artist who is chosen to present Sweden. We have seen different online articles about her behavior and what kind of tension it created.

Let us go back to the main idea of this contest. It was born after the World War II with the goal to connect the European countries and make love and respect grow again. Is it still so? Music is always nice, but not every artist is good and fair. They use ugly methods as soon as they reach a smaller goal. They feel that they are the key person as soon as they achieve some breakthrough.

We can ask ourselves why it is as it is. Are those artists real artists or just some individuals who think that their opinion is the most important? The Eurovision Song Contest should not be a scene for political expressions. If you really feel bad because of some other competitor, then you should exclude yourself instead of irritating the other one. Or maybe you are afraid of being beaten by a better artist?
