Chat In – no more beta! The new version is 3.0 and the earlier one was 2.1. So why so big step and what is changed? Begacom IT Business decided to implement some changes that we describe in this article.
No more Beta version for this WordPress plugin and its API. That is what Begacom IT Business decided after this latest update.
The new version is 3.0 and the earlier one was 2.1. So why so big step and what is changed? That is a good question and we will give you the answer. The company decided to implement some changes that we describe in this article.
You now can see some changes in how the user interface looks, the added functions and that the word Beta is removed. Read also our earlier article.
One of the useful changes implemented in the API is a function for sending emails with chat content so that users can get it sent to their email address.
When you are in the chat you can now see that you can get the whole chat content sent to your email address – so you can read it later if you want.
In the Chat In plugin page in WP-admin there is a list of the chat log files visible now. The log files can automatically be removed from API server within 7 days and the server administrator does that. Not the plugin administrator. The chat logs contain information about active users and e.g. their IP addresses, browser information and the chat content.
IP addresses and number of visits in your chat are now visible on the plugin page in WP-admin. There you can get more information about every IP address that appears in the list and that can be interesting for chat users.
This Chat In plugin API is now a base for something new that Begacom IT Business is going to develop. That is, this company is going to launch a new chat product that is usable in all websites and not in WordPress sites only. More about that you will probably read in this magazine very soon.
