Gone with the snow

Gone with the snow. For people who love snow, winter and skiing it is not easy to accept that the winter time has reached its end.

Everything great lasts short - This is something we can feel when we are disappointed when something good ends. This last winter season in Sweden has been nice. We have been following it with love. From the start of January to the start of April we have been watching three places online: Vallåsen in southern Sweden, Flottsbro in Stockholm and Kungsberget close to Sandviken. We also visited them in a period of 7 days.

Those ski destinations are on three different places in Sweden which means that the snow can last shorter time on one place and longer on another one. It is depending on the temperature.

The snow deep was best in Vallåsen whole time. It was around 130cm. In Flottsbro and Kungsberget was it around 75cm. It was so because Vallåsen is in the south and the snow can melt fastest. Producing more snow was needed just to secure the ski season.

When the spring came the winter spirit came to its end. Web cameras online were showing less snow for each day. It was painful to see how white snow area became darker and dirtier.

For people who love snow, winter and skiing it is not easy to accept that the winter time has reached its end. It is not easy to accept that it is gone with the snow. Every nice moment will remain as a perfect memory though. At least we can look back and talk about it. We can dream about future adventures and trips and look forward to create new memories.

And when the new snow comes then everything starts over again. The passion that is gone with the snow comes back with the new season and new snowfall.
