Hotmail changes - a disappointment. As a professional email service provider Hotmail should have been thinking about this. Let us take a look at the change.

During this relatively short time all Hotmail users must have noticed a new change. Do you know what we are talking about? If you continue reading this article you will see an image that shows this change.

First of all, is every change good? Is it necessary? There will always be different feelings or points of view but in some cases we must ask ourselves: Why? Why did Hotmail decide to change this?

We have been trying to understand why but we have no answers. Our only investigation is our own experience as Hotmail user. We have used this email service in around 20 years. Hotmail has had updates and different changes before but this one does not look to be a successful one.

In e.g. Inbox we can actually see that icons such as trash can for deleting messages are moved to the right end of the message line. They were visible close to the message subject before but now they are far away. This makes it more difficult to manage the messages because it is easy to delete a wrong one. The distance between the message subject and the icons makes it more difficult to see what message we actually want to delete.

This change is not so successful we think. As a professional email service provider Hotmail should have been thinking about this. Probably there are many different users who feel the same. The advertisements on the other side are not affected by this change. The icons connected the them are still on the same place and it is much easier to delete them.
