The Eurovision Song Contest - The Second Semi-Final from Copenhagen
This show continues today, in this wonderful but rainy Copenhagen. But what is The Eurovision Song Contest from the beginning?
The artists from different European countries were singing in their own languages. The winner song was chosen by a special group of people independent if it was possible to understand or not.
Also it was not possible to hear the songs before the contest. That made this contest to something special that we were looking forward to. Today it is nothing special. Everyone can hear all songs and almost everyone sings in english.
The Eurovision Song Contest is dead! Its concept has been changed and it is just a simple melody festival were artists sing on the same language and have similar melodies and do not represent their own countries and cultures.
That is unfortunately too bad. Everything has become just a contest were the artist are trying to sell their songs on the European/global market. What is the meaning of representing a country with a song created by an song writer from another country? If some country is not able to create an own song with their own text and in their own language, than they are simply not qualified to have an international artist who could be their own national representative in the world of music.
