Being a business owner is great especially when everything goes as expected. Sometimes it can go better and sometimes it can go bad. However it is important to keep optimism and creative ideas alive if we want to experience changes. But having business is not only positive. It can mean problems and it can also give us concern because the whole situation can get affected negatively if we are online on the Internet. Our business can get disturbed in different ways and we must be prepared. Here are five situations:
The two first are pretty clear and it is obvious what we should do about it. The last three situations are something that can happen online and we can protect us against it. It is though not always easy because hackers and spammers are often very good in what they do to harm other Internet users.
Fraud orders or registrations is something we can remove. In our terms of business it must be clear that this kind of incoming data will be removed from the database. E.g. this text in terms of business gives us all right to remove what we think is fraud:
1a. The company has right to delete a registered account without contacting the person who registered it if the registered information is written with the goal to lead to a fraud or another not serious action.
And we can also add this:
1b. The company has right to block the use of products, projects or services without having to pay back if the situation is like in 1a even though those are paid.
If fraud orders or registrations keep coming in in different occasion we can always use IP blocking methods. Same with hackers. If we see the IP address in our logs we can block it. And what about spamming from our email addresses? (Learn more about spoofing) SPF records in DNS can help but like in other situations there is no 100 % safe protection against spoofing. In case the spamming continues we can simply inform the customers about it.
