As an author and owner of this magazine, I have decided to write a reportage about details in our life that can affect our lifestyle.

Everything started on summer 2024. The family trip towards southern Europe was ready to begin. What in this trip was the keyword that was a trigger for this article? Well, it is of course too early to reveal the word so we will simply give you a chance to enjoy reading this reportage first.

We will jump over some points in this trip because they probably have been mentioned here before. Therefore, it can be more interesting to read about something new. Let us begin in Split, a city on the Adriatic coast. Driving through Croatia took some hours before we arrived in this city. We booked a room via Booking.com as this service is very reliable. The first expression was a positive one. The second and the last one were negative, but all other in between were interesting.

17 Euros for what?

In few hours only, the people we met in Split gave us bad memories. (Except the apartment owner who was a pleasant and friendly person.) The first case was in a restaurant on the main Riva in Split. The restaurant personnel used their ugly method of "earning" extra money for some kind of "their service". It was around 17 Euros, besides the around 100 Euros for our food. That was a very ugly and a little bit primitive method. Now we understand on what level they still are. The second case was when we tried to inform us about what bus to take. We asked a bus driver hoping that he, as an experienced Split driver, could recommend us what bus to take or who to ask. However, his answer was also a proof of non-friendly relation to the tourists.

Architecture and sea breeze

But the city architecture gave us another picture of this city. The buildings in the old town were attractive and nice to see. They had some own stories to tell and we could feel the presence of those in the air. We can easily say that Split has something in common with other European cities that we visited. If that feeling is because of the architecture, small and interesting streets or a nice sea breeze we can not tell you. Maybe the complete combination of those details makes it attractive.

A private little paradise

Then, after the Adriatic coast and Split, we have something else. Little bit different. It is a house with a backyard that belongs to a very pleasant family in Sarajevo, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is so nice and inspiring to see how someone can create a private little paradise. The place shows how some creative ideas can make a smaller place create a feeling of being on some bigger place. In this case, the creativity has not limits.

Just a simple little pool with gold fishes in it can turn the backyard into something totally different. The water sound from the waterfall above the pool contributes to relaxing environment. When you are back home from the work, you can easily enjoy this with some coffee, guests or just reading a book. Also when it is very warm outside, this place feels pleasant because there are shadows in different corners.

Then, we have a porch in the same backyard too. Except a corner sofa, there is a nice old style rocking chair on it. This place is perfect for enjoying and relaxing but also for guests and (barbeque) parties. Below the porch there is a nice garden barbeque made of stones and it takes some steps only to serve a perfect food. Unfortunately, we did not make any photo of the garden barbeque and now we regret it. However, we carry it in our memory as a very practical part of this backyard. Now, what was the keyword that was a trigger for this article?

Inspiration for the next step

Once upon a time, a Yugoslavian Gastarbeiter, who spent some time in Nürnberg, in Germany, has got a souvenir back home. It is something that reminds on a German festival: Oktoberfest. Looking at it, we got inspired and we understood that we one day will be writing an interesting article like this. Right now, it feels like the article is successful. The inspiration from this backyard in Sarajevo, together with the Oktoberfest sign from Munich have contributed to a great amount of some words for this fresh reportage.

Now we can see the result of our summer vacation 2024. The material for writing was spontaneously collected and well managed. Our last word would be: Try to live and enjoy the life as much as possible and you will understand the value of all details during your trip. Regardless the trip, every new experience will give you some inspiration for the next step.
