In a world where everything develops fast it is not easy to remain unique. Especially on the Internet. Do you have a website? Do you ever think about other websites? How do they look like?
There is one thing that many websites have in common. Templates. Have you ever thought about that? We can assure you that many web developers use templates. The reason is very simple. There is no time to sit and code everything from the scratch in the world we live.
Of course many templates are editable. We do not mean editable inside a CMS or other web builder program but we mean they are editable through their source code.
If we mention WordPress, what do you think about then? Well, if you have any experience there are many different templates. Each one can be edited inside the administrator page (wp-admin) but it is also possible to do more advanced changes in the source code.
What are we trying to explain here? Using templates might be a good way of creating a website very fast but it also hides our identity because templates can make many websites look similar.
If we manage to do advanced changes in the source code then we can stand out. But if not, then people can mix our website with some other one. So, can we avoid templates? Can we protect our identity?
We can avoid all standard templates just to reduce problems with similar look but we should keep using some kind of templates for saving our time. Websites can look very nice regardless how they are created and therefore we should choose the method that fits best but also keeps our identity visible.
