What is a complex network or IT system?
What is a complex network or IT system? What describes that system best? Is it a system that was created long time ago and no one did not really care about changing it at the same time as managers added new parts on it whole time?
Everything can be simplified nowadays because the technology allows it. Old systems, more complex systems can and should be changed. Unfortunately in many cases it is more difficult than we think and it can take very long time to do because of time required to understand the old system's nature.
There is a huge need of speed and complex systems can give disruptions in that point of view. An very real example is the situation where the network or system is down when you try to do something online. It is like a road full of many cars. The traffic is overloaded and suddenly the speed decreases. The servers can not stand that pressure.
But like a highway that solves many problems in the traffic, more improved and simplified systems can make our use of IT much better and comfortable.
Bad servers or bad system use?
We have people who use different CMS like e.g. Wordpress and Joomla. In some situation they complain about slow websites and they mean that the servers have some limitation which in normal cases is not necessarily true. Compare it easily to the situation where people with powerful and fast cars would like to drive very fast but the speed limits according the law do not allow that. Should the law be changed in that case or should the drivers control their own speed?
Programming right we will not experience server limitations.
Wordpress and Joomla users can control the speed and they can solve it by using the limited numbers of plugins/modules and avoiding those ones that actually makes the website slow. If they have the control over plugins/modules then their CMS should work as expected. Other ways maybe plugins/modules will have control over their websites.
Different themes are also a problem. If it is the case then the users have to contact the developers who created that theme just because they are responsible for the quality and functionality. Servers are in most cases not the reason for that the users experience problems with the speed.
Wordpress with many plugins and Joomla with many modules, as we wrote above, are just simple examples where we can see how the overloaded and complex systems can experience disruptions.
