Booking.com could be better

Booking.com could be better and we would like to share some experiences this time, just because we would like to contribute a possible change in positive direction.

Every time we plan some kind of vacation, we grab our smartphone and open the Booking.com App. Maybe not all of us but probably many of us. There are other similar apps and services but Booking.com is the traditional one. Isn't that so? However we would like to share some experiences this time, just because we would like to contribute a possible change in positive direction.

Why? We in this Magazine team have been using the Booking.com app for a while now and we enjoy it. Mostly, everything has been working as expected but… There is always a "but" as someone said.

As Swedish customer or user, we do expect a communication with Booking.com on Swedish or in English. This time we were confused because of something and we contacted the support. We wrote the message in Swedish but the answer came in Spanish. Happily, our confusion or our problem was solved by itself so we did not have to go deeper in to the support fight on different languages.

Booking.com could be better. The answer to an Swedish customer in Spanish.

We translated the Spanish message with Google Translate and in that message we understood that the supporter actually did not understand our issue. That is understandable when you communicate in 2 totally different languages.

One another experience that could be improved at Booking.com is allowing different room solutions. In this case this is maybe not something that Booking.com can change but they could communicate with the hotels who offer the rooms.

Here is an example: A family, two adults and a 12 years old kid need a room. They find a hotel but the only solution is to take 2 rooms with double beds. That means that they have to pay double price and have space for one more person. Instead, it would be much better to offer a room with a double bed and then just add some extra cost for the kid who is going to share the bed with his parents.
