Sickness vs human egoism or selfishness
Sickness vs human egoism or selfishness: Are we selfish if we choose to go to work instead of staying at home when we are sick? Independent of how you call it, egoism or selfishness, it should not affect us when being sick. if we are sick we should stay at home and recover.
Being sick can be a very unpleasant experience. It can affect us negatively so much that we sometimes feel guilty because of that. The result of this kind of feeling is e.g. going to work even though we actually should stay at home and rest and recover.
Are we selfish if we choose to go to work instead of staying at home when we are sick?
Yes, we are selfish. We think about money if it is so that we loose money when we take a day off. On the other side we maybe feel bad if our team has to manage all work without us when we are at home. Is this kind of egoism or selfishness if we can call it like that something negative?
If we read following it maybe can sound negative:
We think about money if it is so that we loose money when we take a day off.
If we read following it does not sound as negative as above but of course it is negative:
On the other side we maybe feel bad if our team has to manage all work without us when we are at home.

But how bad or good is it to go to work even if we are sick?
- It is not good at all but if we mentally feel better because of that then it is something else.
- It is bad because we prolong the sickness period which can be exhausting.
- It is also bad because we probably are in risk zone since spreading viruses to our colleagues can give negative result in the whole situation.
So independent of how you call it, egoism or selfishness, it should not affect us when being sick. If we are sick we should stay at home and recover.
