Sonja - one of the artists in Malmö: She started with painting when she was 15 years old. She loves all colors and she likes using them all particularly when the colors differ like red and blue, black and white and so on.
On April 14 our Magazine visited a gallery in Malmö where an Art Tour was ongoing. Actually we got an invitation via Facebook and we decided to make a visit. We got an opportunity to see many nice paintings, for instance one called "Malmö by night".

Who is Sonja?
Sonja was born in Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Former Yugoslavia). She came with her family to Sweden in 1992. They lived in Trelleborg and they moved in to Malmö where she got familiar with the city and took her opportunities to develop as an artist.
She started with painting when she was 15 years old. It was in her school time when she realized that she likes doing this and that she wants to paint more. But she took a break from it and it wasn't till she was 27 that she did some of her paintings.
Skånes Fria Konstrunda (Art Tour) in Malmö: In school time Sonja realized that she likes painting and that she wants to paint more.
Her artist name is Sonja. She does not want to change it to some another because nowadays its easy to get information about everything, including persons and names. She simply wants to keep her original name.
My paintings are all made in oil and I don't use brush, yes that's right I paint with fingers because I feel I can express my feelings and thoughts better through fingers. My paintings have strong colors, I love all colors and I like using them all particularly when the colors differ like red and blue, black and white and so on. And I do all kinds of themes. My paintings are often My experience, My thoughts, My dreams and My nightmares.

Who organized this Art Tour?
This Skånes Fria Konstrunda (Art Tour) was organized by A woman Gina Cinnamoni. She is an artist as well. There were several Art Tours in Skåne under Easter, people from all places in Sweden came to Skåne to visit artists and see their art. Sonja is one of the artists and her art we could see in Malmö.
Skånes Fria Konstrunda (Art Tour) in Malmö: Gina Cinnamoni invited Sonja via email a year ago and she wrote about Skånes Fria Konstrunda.
Gina Cinnamoni (
www.skanesfriakonstrunda.se) invited her via email a year ago and she wrote about Skånes Fria Konstrunda and how to apply. Sonja found it interesting and applied. She didn't know then so much about it but it seemed interesting and she knew she wanted more people to see her art.
What is Sonja's plan for the future and what about the inspiration??
It is to do more paintings and hopefully show it to more people. It's fun expressing thoughts and feelings through the paintings.
There are many things that can give inspiration. Trips to other countries or cities, for example Paris inspired Sonja to create "City lights". The inspiration was also easy to find in her own city Malmö where she created the painting called "Malmö by night", inspired by nightlife and young people going out in Malmö in night time.

So after some hours at Sonja's gallery we decided to leave the place. The idea of Art Tour is actually something great for people who like painting and have some own paintings that they wish to present.
