Winter season slowly melts away. When the weather is playing with our feelings and our lifestyle, we are not able to do so much about it.

During the last week of March, there were still no real signs of the spring. At least in the southern parts of Sweden the temperature has been going up and down several times. People who love sports such as skiing and running have experienced disappointment.

In this magazine we have mentioned some relatively good places for alpine skiing in southern Sweden. Unfortunately this winter season has not been so promising as some people have hoped. In December 2023 there have been some good opportunities for skiing in real winter, but after that it started to go in negative direction.

Melting snow and high temperatures was something that affected the feelings of every skier who actually wanted to experience a fantastic winter on some of the mentioned places. Web cameras on those place presented mostly not so attractive images. 5 or 8 degrees of Celsius is not what a passionate alpine skier loves.

Melting snow and forest without any snow around the pistes is unfortunately a sad experience. The winter season has been pretty bad in southern Sweden but also spring time seems to be delayed. The weather is playing with our feelings since it is too warm for a skier and still cold for a runner. Who wants to ski in melting snow? Who wants to run in a wet windy weather?

Well… it seems to be our new reality. There is not so much to do about this and we simply have to accept it. However, it is always possible to travel to another place, where we still can find good skiing opportunities or better weather for running.
