Everyone will experience it. Only those who are not born yet, will not. The question is only when and how. Many people, maybe also you and me, wonder what happens when the time has come. What is the end of life and how do we experience it? Honestly, there are different ways of doing that, but each one leads to a common thing: missing and longing for someone.
You might have been on one or several funerals. The procedure, or the ritual is the same, regardless who has reached the end of life. In each case is the farewell the last moment we share with the person who stopped living. When someone passes away, we simply say goodbye to him or her. Afterwards we exchange some words and old memories with the others who are there to say goodbye to that person.
What does passing away actually mean? In this article we are not writing about any theoretical or logical explanation, but we are trying to describe the feeling we get when we lose someone. We are all different and we react differently when it happens. Normally, the strongest reaction is when we lose a family member. The most sensitive situation is probably when losing the mother. But we can of course mourn everyone who had a close relation to us.
Where is our dear? Where did he or she hide? Some kind of helpless and empty feeling has got a grip on us. It holds and does not leave. In some moments, it is like a nice feeling because it connects us to the missing dear person. It is some kind of painful passion, a sad and strong longing for a missing part of us. That is how we actually could express it.
