Dyatlov pass tragedy - was it an avalanche, aliens or an Yeti? What happened? No one was and still is not sure what the true story is.

How much do we know about this story? In July 12 and July 13 this story was presented in different online newspapers. Some of them are Swedish DN and British The Times. Also some articles on dailymail.co.uk and foreigner.fi are interesting.

What about the Dyatlov pass? Who has heard about that? Actually this is something that happened before many of us was born. According to all articles it was an expedition where some of students, cross-country skiers decided to visit the Russian Ural Mountains.

This expedition ended with a disaster. It was a tragedy. What happened? No one was and still is not sure what the true story is. This summer, in 2020, Russia decided to close the case with an explanation. The cause of this tragedy was actually an avalanche in combination with very low temperature. It was -45 degrees and students could not survive since they was not able to make fire. Their tent was destroyed and they did not even have enough clothes on.

Conspiracy Theory

Now, what do people suddenly want to hear instead of the presented explanation? They are not happy with the result of investigation and they do discuss alternative stories such as a secret rocket test or maybe even aliens. Also stories about Yeti became popular.

The biggest animal on the place where this happened is bear but they were in hibernation because that part of year (February) was time for that.

The interesting thing is that a medical doctor mentioned Yeti. According to some comments about articles it is strange that a doctor says so. It would be understandable if some ordinary people believed in that but a medical doctor? The comment about this is at dailymail.co.uk:

However, what or who is Yeti? That is simply Asian Bigfoot. In Himalayan folklore, the Yeti is a monstrous creature, some kind of abominable Snowman in western popular culture.

So what is the true? What happened? This tragic incident is one of many other horrible incidents in the world and there will always be dissatisfactions when we talk about explanations. Some of them will never be accepted as true although they sound as logical as possible. Therefore we will always hear some other alternative stories.

We know that some cases are not clear and people think that they should be explained better. Unfortunately it is not always so. We will always have closed cases even though many questions remain open.
