Requiring access to camera and microphone on the smartphone was what we experienced with this app when we tried to use it first time. Why? Is this needed for our business presence across Facebook and Instagram?

The technology nowadays seem to require more and more from us. As users we have to accept the fact that it is how it is. Normally people have opportunities to choose their settings. Smartphones are full of different settings. And as standard it is possible to turn off and turn on different settings.

Since Facebook Pages Manager decided to go over to Meta Business Suite it looks like they decided to have access to our phones without letting us to decide. It appeared to be so when we tried to use the app. This maybe was a bug and there maybe were some hidden setting but requiring access to camera and microphone looked like something unchangeable. We had to live with that.

After several tests in iPhone X it appeared not possible to change this behaviour of the Meta Business Suite app. We also tried to investigate this inside the desktop version of Facebook and also Meta Business Suite but without success. Finally after about two weeks of testing and login in attempts the requirement suddenly disappeared. And that created a feeling of satisfaction for us as users.

We have tried to find an answer online but we did not find any. No people seem to have asked about this issue. But who knows, maybe in future we will have an explanation. It does not sound logical that only we have found this irritating. Are people really so neutral? Do not they react at all?
