People love horror movies. People love tension and action. That is fully understandable. Who wants to see a boring movie? In June 2024 a Swedish newspaper published an article about the movie Sous la Seine - Under Paris.
Actually the subject of that article was written so good that it inspired us to write our own article. We are not going to write about this movie because Sous la Seine is not important at all. It can only remind us one more time on how people enjoy presenting an animal as a danger.
We have seen similar movies before. They are about e.g. sharks, wolves, bears and even about dinosaurs. All those animals (except the dinosaurs) are in danger. They are endangered animals. If the dinosaurs would exist now, then they should also be endangered. The humans are the one and only danger on our planet.
It is understandable that there is a need of some scary movie though. People like to watch this kind of movies with tensions, a movie where an animal is attacking people. However, it is wrong if such a movie can give as a wrong perception of that animal.
Sharks, wolves, bears and other dangerous animals are just normal animals like all others. They simply do not like to be disturbed and they do not allow other animals and people to cross their territory. They do protect their own home and if they are in danger or if they are very hungry, they can attack.
Otherwise, they do no attack without any special reason. If people want to swim in the sea, probably no shark will just wait until someone jumps in the water. However, if they accidentally come there, there could be some unwanted scenes because sharks are curious and want to investigate their surrounding.
