Winter in southern Sweden

Winter in southern Sweden. White and light days instead of darkness and horrible cold rain. This sounds like a nice winter saga but it is not for everyone. There will always be people who need to complain. Let us read.

This is winter 2025/2026. The southern coast of Sweden has finally experienced a more concrete winter. Already in early December 2025 there was snow. Then it melted away and came sporadically again. Finally in the beginning of 2026 it decided to stay for some more days. January has actually decided to offer us some real winter atmosphere.

Are there any signs of climate change? Some people will continue claiming that we, people, have contributed to a constant climate change. Other will not say so. We maybe affect the local temperature and contribute somehow to some other changes in the whole climate. But look, we still get some snow and a cold winter.

Now when we temporarily are back in real winter, people complain. They say that it is cold. They wish that the winter was like summer. Warm and nice. Is it maybe so that people always have to complain? They should be happy because the real winter still can exist. We can walk in white and light days. We can go and ski. We do not have to be depressed because of darkness and horrible cold rain.

This article is written to express positive feelings. The year 2026 started very good. We have some snow and a real winter. The winter time in this part of Europe is expected to be like this. Snow and minus degrees. That is a normal weather for Sweden. So, this cold start of this year is the best one we could get. At least we hope that it is not the last one. Let us hope to get a perfect summer too!
