Often we have dilemmas about how to travel from one to another point. What alternative is the best one? What do we normally look at?
Take an example, how would you go from Malmö/Copenhagen area to Stockholm? Let say that you are four persons (3 adults and 1 child) who can choose between car, train and airplane.
The cheapest solution is traveling by car because you have to pay between 1000 and 1500 SEK for gas. The trip takes 6-7 hours.
If you choose train then you can count with paying 3000-4500 SEK. It is maybe cheaper if you book the trip very long time before you want to travel. The trip takes around 4,5 hours.
If you choose to fly: flying time is 1h 10 min but you need to go to the airport at least 2 hours earlier depending on the connection to the airport. This is the most expensive alternative if you choose to fly with SAS. The price can be up to 15000 SEK (inclusive 23kg and 8 kg luggage) but if you are a EuroBonus member and if you can pay with 70000 points then your cost is 1780 SEK only. Of course, also here it can be some thousands cheaper if you book the trip very long time before you want to travel.
If you choose other low budget companies then your trip probably can be cheaper. E.g. Norwegian is cheaper than SAS but you have to pay extra for your luggage.
However, if we look at the total experience, flying is not so exhausting as long duration trips because of the short flying time. But flying is not much faster than train just because of the time needed before and after flying.
Some strange things are happening in Sweden. A propaganda against flying as negative thing is being spread. A propaganda that makes flying dangerous for environment.
But flying is needed. That is something that is important in our world. Compare it to Internet. All those people who spread the negative propaganda about flying can not stop to use Internet. They are 24h online together with all their devices. That kills humans and everything else around us. All wireless radiation is destroying our environment.
