Analysing movies is not always easy. What do people want to see? What do they search for? We have really nice opportunity to recommend this movie from 2003 and therefore we are writing something about it. After seeing it one time we have decided to do it one more time. The second time could contribute to better understanding. The movie is still exciting even though many years have gone since the first time.
The movie presents a true story about two climbers. It describes their successful, disastrous and nearly fatal climb of the 6,344-metres in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. Without revealing the details we can just say that the movie generates great excitement and curiosity. It offers us an experience of almost the same adventure feel that those two climbers experienced.
Can Touching the void be compared to other movies? If you have watched the documentary about K2 summit you can find some similarities between those two movies. Both of them are about a dream, a dream about reaching the top of a mountain. They can easily inspire us. If we already are not interested in climbing we can become that. What can be better than a perfect view, snow and fresh air on the top of Siula Grande and K2 or even Mount Everest?
Touching the void can show us that everything can be possible when the life reaches a tragic point and we think that it is not possible to survive. Our survival instinct can give us a final push and extra strength. Therefore we can get stimulated to make it through in the hardests moments of our lives.
Let your curiosity win and watch the movie. Experience a mix of different feelings. Excitement and curiosity on one side and anxiety, fear and helplessness on the other. Maybe this movie can help you discover your own hidden dream and help you realize it.
