Skiing, skiing and skiing. In this magazine we simply love to create articles based on real experiences. Our experience is your inspiration and maybe even your own future satisfaction. From Vallåsen, Ulricehamn, Kungsberget, Branäs and Flottsbro we finally decided to visit Isaberg.

As an author and owner of this magazine, I have decided to write a reportage about Isaberg ski resort and at the same time satisfy my curiosity.

Why did I make that decision? Well, someone told this place is a good one. The first day was very foggy but let’s take a look regardless to the weather.

How can we describe the absolutely first impression? Is it true that Isaberg is the largest ski resort in southern Sweden? Shortly described it was a good first time. Without exaggerating it looks bigger than Vallåsen and Ulricehamn but it is in same ski resorts class as those two.

The Danish Alps

It is called for Danish Alps because of one reason. The number of Danes on Isaberg was that high so anyone could believe that this ski resort is in Denmark and not in Sweden.

However how can we describe Isaberg by using our first experience? What was positive and what was negative?

The number of pistes is satisfying good which is better than Vallåsen and Ulricehamn. That gives every skier a feeling of being on some bigger ski resort. Ski lift queues were not long which can be as result of their speed and efficiency. The chairlift was very fast to the top and therefore the waiting time was successfully minimized.

On the other side the number of skiers was high. The whole place felt crowded at least on the two most popular pistes: Familjebacken and Dalen but also on the top. On the left side of Dalen there is a good red piste which offers fast and short time downhill experience which is terrific for anyone who loves speed. There we did not experience crowdedness.

The view, camping and cottages

The black piste was closed this time because of the lack of snow. It was difficult to produce snow much enough so every piste could be satisfying good. Therefore they probably put more energy for maintaining all others instead of opening the black one.

Below the top and the Familjebacken piste is a central part for restaurant, ski rental, ski pass and also heating cabin where people can rest and eat. A similar but little bit smaller heating cabin can be found also just some meters from ski lifts on the lower part of Dalen piste. We actually experienced both cabins and the smaller one was a little calmer than the other one.

The view from pistes is great, especially when you look from the Dalen piste and the red one which we described above. You can see a big lake, a camping and cottages for rent on the bottom of all pistes. This place is popular also in summer time.

All pistes are fully equipped with snow cannons which can help maintaining the quality and deep of the snow. In total there should be 60 snow cannons in Isaberg.

Our last words? Would you like to get a recommendation? Well you can get our opinion. Go and try Isaberg. It is a good place. It is not big and limitless like some other real ski resorts but it is like Vallåsen and Ulricehamn and it offers a good time for people who love snow and skiing.
