Bosnia and Herzegovina is boring in summer. What do we actually want to do on our vacation? What attracts us?

If you really love your life and your vacation time, you probably want to enjoy as much as possible. It is a natural expectation, especially when you work hard the biggest part of the year. A vacation is an opportunity to reward yourself.

Let us look back in time and analyze a specific European country. We have been visiting this country at least ten years in row, mostly during the summer time. We are writing about Bosnia and Herzegovina. This country looks good from some points of view and for a first time visitor it might be a wow-experience. But an experienced visitor who is hungry for something exciting would probably think something else.

Bosnia and Herzegovina can be experienced as a boring place, especially in summer time. When you get there, you can experience a very warm summer. During the sunny summer days there is almost nothing to do. If you are in Sarajevo you can only walk or visit different shopping centers. But is that what we actually want to do on our vacation?

For going out, you have to wait for later parts of the day. Actually it means that the biggest part of your time in Sarajevo is to take it easy somewhere in the shadow or just walk from a café to another café and get something cold to drink. We must ask ourselves if that is a preferable vacation.

You could go on some arranged excursion and experience some parts of the beautiful nature in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There are many nice rivers and lakes there, but some of them are either too cold or dirty. Some others are not even available because they are too far away and the infrastructure is not adapted. This kind of activities still needs some improvements.

If we would compare Bosnia and Herzegovina to e.g. Croatian coast we could easily say that the Adriatic sea is a perfect solution for the summer time. Bosnia and Herzegovina is on the other side a solution for winter time instead. Around the capital city there are great mountains for alpine skiing, so therefore, we can prefer it in winter time instead for in a boring summer time.
